Dr. Knox has more than 35 years of experience in social, economic, and community research. Much of his work has involved public policy research and/or issues related to economic and land use development, though his recent practice has also focused strongly on community indicators and social program evaluation. He holds a PhD in Psychology and a graduate certificate in Urban Planning from the University of Hawai`i. He served as 2004-06 and 2012-13 president of the Hawai`i Economic Association and has also served on the boards of the Hawai`i Council for Economic Education and the Urban Land Institute, Hawai`i District.

Sara is experienced in environmental, community, and land use planning, as well as socio-economic research and program/policy evaluation. She earned her Doctorate in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa in 2018. Sara has been involved in various planning projects in Hawai‘i, and other Pacific Islands over the last ten years, and is involved in a range of socio-economic impact studies and program evaluations here at JMK Associates.
