Dr. Knox has more than 35 years of experience in social, economic, and community research. Much of his work has involved public policy research and/or issues related to economic and land use development, though his recent practice has also focused strongly on community indicators and social program evaluation. He holds a PhD in Psychology and a graduate certificate in Urban Planning from the University of Hawai`i. He served as 2004-06 and 2012-13 president of the Hawai`i Economic Association and has also served on the boards of the Hawai`i Council for Economic Education and the Urban Land Institute, Hawai`i District.

Sara is experienced in environmental, community, and land use planning, as well as socio-economic research and program/policy evaluation. She earned her Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa in 2009 and is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Planning, at UH Mānoa. Sara has been involved in various planning projects in Hawai‘i over the last few years, and is now involved in a range of socio-economic impact studies and program evaluations here at JMK Associates.
